You know what it’s like. You’ve had a trek from your car that feels like you’ve just marched across the Gobi desert, you’re piled to the teeth with bags, bottles, chairs, and God knows what else. The kids are hanging off you like you’re some sort of fairground ride – now the last thing you need to do is dance the tango with a flapping and flailing beach tent, that will take the skill of an engineer to erect, and the strength of three people to battle into submission.
So, what if you had a beach accessory that really did just pop up when you needed it, and popped back down again when you didn’t? What if it only weighed a few pounds, and could be easily collapsed into a space of only a few square inches?
Well, Beach Baby is pleased to report that this could actually be true.
It’s not all that often that a product review gets 4.5 stars out of five from us – which is not something we give out freely, especially with beach tents. But it would seem that the Pacific Breeze Easy Up Beach Tent really could be as good as all that.
With enough space to fit two adult size chairs comfortably, this could easily be the shell on your back, a portable home away from home, or pop up beach hut for any seaside situation.
This is strong enough to shield from rain, wind, as well as extreme heat of the sun, and light enough to pack away. It folds down to a comfortable size, and weighs roughly the same as a couple of bags of sugar.
The sun protection it offers is at least 50 SPF, and possibly beyond. If you’ve got kids, you may fit three to four juniors in there comfortably, before the sun burns their tender skin. There won’t be enough room for the adults to shelter easily at the same time, though.
The frame is made of lightweight fibreglass, and the material is eco friendly, lightweight, and durable synthetic fabric.
Beach Baby has ascertained that the longevity of this beach tent is actually pretty good, and the word on the street is that customer service has been of a high standard, with Pacific Breeze being quick to respond to any problems, in a way that puts most companies to shame.
Lightweight But Not Flimsy
There’s a couple of windows to allow for pleasant air circulation, and pockets in the interior to put valuables.
Despite being lightweight, it is not flimsy, and can withstand a fair bit of being blown about – come wind, rain, sandstorms, that sometime accompany going to the seaside.
If this is not big enough for you, Pacific Breeze also has a four man, extra large version, available with three windows, weighing in, at a still fairly modest six pounds.
Some pop up tents are a breeze to get up, but then, like an overdose of Viagra, nothing on earth can persuade them to come back down again. Rest assured, you won’t be forced to practically murder your beach erection. This baby can be coaxed back down again nice and easily into its resting place.
Customers just LOVE this tent!
At around $70 for a medium sized two person tent (depending where you buy), there are certainly cheaper tents available, but for the money, we say you could easily purchase something that’s not quite as good.
If you haven’t tried a pop up tent yet (or maybe you did try one, and it was just a pain in the butt), perhaps it might be worth a go. It’s got to be better than pitting your umbrella against the might of the elements, and an improvement on getting your beach towel completely wet and muddy.
We can’t promise that it will stop sand getting into every available crevice and pore though!
WHAT CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT IT
“After the first few times of quite easy use, it was getting a bit hard to put down. So I contacted customer services who were really helpful, and they promptly responded by sending another one out, which has lasted. I am pretty impressed with their response, even though the warranty is there for a reason though!”
“This was so quick to get up, it was a dream! It also went down much more easily than I expected, having had some bad times trying to get beach tents up and down in the past, I would recommend this definitely.”
“The sand pockets did their job and kept this nice and sturdy. It was our little castle when we recently went on vacation, and there was a really hefty side wind blowing the entire time. Kept thinking it would blow away, but it never did. It might be an idea to get some longer poles to go with it, if it’s really windy though.”
“Lightweight and compact and easy to use. This beach tent did what it said on the tin, and has been reliable for several vacations so far and hopefully many more to come!”
