If you love to be in the water, doing things like diving and snorkelling, or kayaking, among other water activities, you’re going to need some sort of a wetsuit that protects you against things like jellyfish, sea lice, and germs, as well as harmful UV rays.
This NeoSport Wetsuits swimming skin is the perfect base layer to be worn underneath a wetsuit, and it is very affordably priced. It can, of course, be worn on its own for various reasons, from keeping the sun off your body, to being worn as a thin wetsuit to lessen drag in the water.
Wetsuit Vs. Swim Skin
This NeoSport full body neoprene sports swim skin is easy to put on and take off, and it will reduce drag in the water, but we must remind you that it isn’t technically a wetsuit. A wetsuit provides you with buoyancy in the water, and it also significantly cuts down on drag in the water, and because a wetsuit is a “thermal” garment, it keeps you warm. This NeoSport swim skin does not provide any buoyancy, or much warmth, but it does to an extent reduce drag when worn on its own.
Just to be clear, this NeoSport swim skin is NOT just a cheaper version of a wet suit. The main purpose of this form-fitting “wetsuit” is to be worn beneath a wetsuit, which is sold separately. One of the main reasons users like this swim skin, is because it does in fact, make getting in and out of your wetsuit much, much easier.
Being made of lycra, this suit is smooth and form fitting, coming in a variety of sizes and color selections. It is perfect for beginner divers and snorkelers, as well as more advanced enthusiasts. It was designed intentionally with a very long zipper in the front, for quickly getting into and out of the suit. As well, foot stirrups were added to prevent the suit from riding up at the ankles.
Yes, you can jump in the water with only this on, but, for most customers who purchase the NeoSport swim skin, it is simply one of several parts of the diving ensemble.
Below, you will find a selection of other commonly purchased items that go with this unisex swim skin.
For customers who have purchased this NeoSport swim skin, our research shows that those who understood that this was NOT meant as a wetsuit, but rather a base layer, to be worn underneath a wetsuit (if you are serious about diving, and other underwater pursuits like snorkelling) have been quite happy with this product. Those who were not sure what this product was, when they bought it eg. a swim skin, were perhaps understandably miffed. Most of the confusion seems to come from the fact that the company is called NeoSport Wetsuits, causing people to think that they’re getting a wetsuit, especially considering it looks like a wetsuit. Anyway, it’s NOT a wetsuit – it’s a swim skin, and a very good one at that. We give this product 4 STARS!
