When this Beach Baby reviewer gets invited to parties, she likes to get her feet wet sometimes, and that is exactly what you can do with the Intex Pacific Paradise Relaxation Station Water Lounge.
This is because the middle section has a mesh floor, for the ultimate relaxation and cooling of tootsies.
Comparatively speaking, this is for anyone who likes their parties a little more selective, as it is “only” a four person, which in and of itself is not a problem…though we must say, that it looks as if it could easily fit a few more on board. (Don’t though!).
It is, however, pretty big, just be aware of this before purchasing.
This is a lot cheaper than the Bestway six seater, coming in easily at under a hundred dollars, and features mesh flooring in the middle, ideal for paddling that we so enjoy at the lake.
Although Beach Baby could not find out a specific weight for this item, we think it is around thirty seven pounds, so it won’t exactly be light to transport, but then on the plus side, it is going to seat four people with ease, so it needs to be sturdy.
A rope ladder provides easy access, and there are four drink holders on board. The back rests are pretty comfy, too.
All in all, you should be able to watch life float by you in a nice, content haze.
Here is a video showing some folks having fun with the Relaxation Station. As we always say, DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL when using these things. It can lead to serious problems!
GENTLY DOWN THE STREAM?
Before you even think about it, it isn’t a good idea to add any kind of motorized device. It is just for lounging around, and chilling out. Not a good idea to try to turn it into some kind of speed boat!
Neither do we recommended towing it. It is only an inflatable, and wouldn’t stand up to that sort of treatment!
It would be best to think of this as a sort of giant water toy for adults. Fine for fun, but nothing more gruelling.
In terms of where to use it, it seems that a lake would be your best option, preferably moored to something, to keep it from ‘sailing’ away.
An anchor is not supplied in the ‘purchase package’, so you might want to buy one yourself.
Could you get some paddles, and paddle to shore? Probably, but it might not be the easiest venture!
PUMP IT UP?
So what about the practical side of the assembly? How easy is this thing to inflate and deflate?
Well, firstly, this is no small job, by any stretch of the imagination, so please don’t think you can use a foot pump – unless you have the strength of Thor, and all the time in the world.
You will need to purchase an electric pump, and take ten minutes of your time to inflate it.
Deflating this monster will not be difficult either, as it deflates pretty painlessly, and fast. If only everything in life was so simple!
TERRIFIC OR TITANIC?
The only real concern we can see with this relaxation station, is an issue with the central meshing, as there have been some instances of this tearing.
Other than that, it got genuinely good feedback from most customers, aside from a minority of faulty products, which popped, or failed to inflate properly from the get go.
Indeed, the majority of respondents gave this floating island raft a hearty thumbs up, with only a few naysayers in the bunch.
It is usually found for a purchase price under $100, which means that you and your buddies can have an inexpensive, but relatively safe blast on the water. It is indeed worthy of consideration for anyone looking for a party on a shoestring.
This floating station is bigger than it seems, and is a perfect way to lounge away a summer’s afternoon.
Make sure you bring sunscreen protection though, as this one does not come with a shade attached.
