Coppertone Brand

The Coppertone company has been around since the 1940s when a pharmacist named Benjamin Green wanted to create a lotion to darken tans.

The company wasn’t incredibly popular until they came out with the advertising using the Coppertone Girl. The blond girl is surprised by a puppy that pulls down her swimsuit bottoms.

This iconic advertising was the face of Coppertone for many years, though, it’s since changed to be less revealing.

The brand is currently owned by Bayer. The Coppertone brand has been associated with tanning and sunscreen for generations.

Broad Spectrum Protection

The broad spectrum protection of a sunscreen will protect its user from both UVA and UVB rays.

These are ultraviolet radiation that is given off by the sun whether it’s sunny and bright or cloudy and dark. It doesn’t have to be sun to be a danger to your skin.

The SPF rating of a sunscreen varies from 15 to 100. It’s the amount of time that a person can be in the sun without burning.

If you can sit in the sun for 10 minutes without burning, an SPF of 15 will give you 10 x 15 in the sun without burning. It’ll also block a certain amount of harmful rays during that time.

SPF and the protection it gives you can be slightly confusing. You’re getting two different numbers from it. At an SPF of 100, this sunscreen lotion protects against both UVA and UVB based on its broad spectrum ingredients.

It will give you 99% protection against the sun for hours. The company recommends that you reapply the lotion every 80 minutes.

Water and Sweat Resistant Sport Formula

The lotion can protect the user from the sun only when it’s applied as directed. Unfortunately, not everyone puts the lotion on in the right amount.

This sunscreen resists water and sweat. It won’t be washed away while you’re performing your favorite activities outdoors.

The sport formula means that you don’t have to worry about it wearing off from your sweat. You can enjoy your favorite activities like running or biking without the sunscreen being washed away.

You’ll still need to reapply every 80 minutes, but that gives you plenty of time to sweat while you’re training or having fun.

Along with being resistant to water and sweat, the lotion is photostable, too. The sun’s harmful UV rays can actually break down some sunscreens and sunblocks.

When you’re in the sun for a few hours, the lotion doesn’t wear away by touch. It’s often worn away by the sun itself.

Moisturizing and Nourishing

The spray has all the ingredients needed to block the UVA and UVB rays of the sun. There are physical and chemical ingredients that are used to block the ultraviolet rays.

The Coppertone SPORT Continuous Spray Sunscreen has other ingredients that are fantastic for your skin.

It has Vitamin E and other moisturizing ingredients that hydrate the skin. You don’t want to end up with dry skin while you’re using the sunscreen.

It won’t happen with this sunscreen spray. A moisturizing formula doesn’t have to be greasy, either. This spray won’t have an impact on your grip, which can be a serious problem in some sports.

This sunscreen goes on light and non-greasy. It won’t clog your pores or lay heavy on your skin. The last thing you want is a heavy, greasy lotion on your skin.

It can actually make you sweat and clog your pores leading to breakouts. That won’t happen with this sunscreen.

Continuous Spray

The spray can be used in a continuous stream that won’t get clogged or interrupted. Even when you tilt the can upside down, the spray will continue to shoot strong and steady.

When you have to get all areas of the body, it’s important that you can spray at any angle without interruption.

The Coppertone SPORT Continuous Spray Sunscreen is a great spray for those who are worried about their sports and activity level.

You want to spray your body and head outdoors without being concerned that you’ll burn. If you plan on staying outside more than 80 minutes, you’ll definitely need to reapply, but that’s true of every sunscreen.
