If you’re looking for a great sea-side break, Croatia is the place to go. Adriatic Croatia is full of isolated islands, historic ports, watersport hotspots, the most beautiful beaches, and much more.
1,800 km of coastline makes Croatia well established on the holiday scene, being one of the most popular Adriatic sea destinations in Europe.
The Best Beaches in Croatia – From Personal Experience
Best Family Beach – Vela Beach, Baska, Krk Island

Vela beach offers 1.8 km of sand and gravel beaches to choose from. It’s a great fit for almost all personal preferences.
The beaches are accompanied by multiple attractive sports activities and beach bars. Therefore, this makes the best family beach.
Instead of spending a day on the beach and just soaking up the sun, families with kids will have lots to do and choose between fun activities.
The beach isn’t overcrowded, and you will always be able to find available sunbeds for rent.

The Cleanest Beach – Zlatni Rat Beach, Brac, Island

Zlatni Rat is a one-of-a-kind beach that is considered to be one of the cleanest beaches in Croatia. It’s very unusual as it stretches 500 meters into the sea.
It’s a sandy beach with an easy sandy access to the beach, 500 meters into the sea. The water is crystally clear, and the beach is cleaned regularly.
This is the perfect beach to take your little ones to. Also, it’s a distraction-free beach. No matter where you look, you will be surrounded by the sea most of the time.
However, the beach is very close to the luxurious 4-star hotel Bluesun which is a great place to stay.
Here’s a video by Nina Ischia, showing off some of the natural beauty of this clean coastal body of water.
The Most Romantic Beach – St. Ivan Beach, Lubenice, Island Cres

St. Ivan beach is the perfect beach for romantic couples who are in love. At the same time, it’s a great beach for adventurers.
It’s a bit remote and it takes an hour to get to it by walking, but it’s isolated and perfect for couples who would like to enjoy their own beach without having to share it with a lot of people.
There are no restaurants and shops nearby, but that just makes it a perfect place for a romantic picnic.
Take a look at this video by The World as a Playground and tell us you don’t want to go there immediately!
The Most Remote Beach – Spiaza, Susak

To find the most remote beach in Croatia, you’ll have to hop between the islands – but it’s definitely worth it.
Susak is a tiny Croatian island which is entirely composed of sand. You can get a ferry ride from Mali Losinj, and visit Spiaza which is the main beach on the island.
The bay is very shallow and you should expect to walk for about half a kilometer to find the water deep enough to swim.
If you want to find an even more remote beach, Bok bay is even more remote and less crowded because you can access it only by walking around a rocky headland.
Here is an epic video by Saluto Team showing aerial shots of Susak.
The Best Nudist Beach – Kacjak FKK Beach, Dramalj

Croatia has been one of the favorite nudist destinations in western Europe. In fact, nudist beaches aren’t very remote and they’re easily accessed.
Kacjak FKK beach is just north of Crikvenica. It has stairs that lead down to the beach. The beach is gorgeous, cool and has clear water.
Just follow the FKK letters on the ground which stand for the official nudist beach. The general meaning is the free body culture.
It’s not very remote so note that you will be on a display for people on top of the park.
Best Party Beach – Zrce Festival Beach, Novalja

Zrce is the top destination if you’re planning on partying your whole summer. Zrce Festival beach became one of the most recgonizable beaches in the last few years in the Europe.
It has everything a party person could ask for. It offers a combination of stunning surroundings, crystal clear sea with nice beaches, and fabolous party offers.
World’s biggest DJ’s visit every summer and offer all sorts of hedonistic parties. It’s a dream beach for every party head out there.

The Most Beautiful Beach – Queen’s Beach, Nin

Nin is actually 15 km’s away from Zadar, but it’s everything you could ask from the most beautiful beach.
The most beautiful beaches are always remote, but Queen’s beach isn’t that far away from Zadar. Queen’s beach is full of beach bars, and nothing else.
It’s has a good combination of beautiful mountain views of the Velebit mountains accross the water and the sea.
Behind Queen’s beach, you will find people smearing themselves in sludge. The beach is rich in peloid mud which acts as a natural treatment for sore muscles and joints. So it’s something you could give a try.
Here’s a look at Queen’s beach thanks to Travel Tigers, and we think you’ll agree that this is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, not just Croatia!
Best Beach for Watersports – Beach in Porec

The Porec’s main beach is full of watersport activities. From jet ski rentals to windsurfing and ski lifting. Porec has some of the best outdoor activities.
They might not be the cheapest ones, but they definitely offer the most value for the price you’ll pay.
Y0u should definitely try kayaking and canoeing because it’s a lot of fun. Blue Lagoon diving center has good scuba and snorkeling offers for lovers of exploring.
Afterall, if you didn’t know, Porec has hundreds of tennis courts in case you’d like to take a break from watersports.

The Most Hidden Beach – Nugal, Makarska

Nugal is a gorgeous beach with a lot of mainland. The good thing about Nugal is that it offers a lot of hidden spots, yet you just have to find them.
Thanks to the nature, Nugal isn’t your usual beach. It’s full of caves and little hideaways where you will feel like you’re on your own private beach. Most parts are accessable only by a boat but are also the best and the most hidden parts.
If you love underwater exploring like snorkelling, Nugal is a great place as well. Check out this video by Tomasz Mostowski.
Conclusion
Croatia is a hot country which is easily accessible and provides a good value. Needless to say, Adriatic Croatia is full of amazing beaches.
My advice is not to only stick to sand beaches. Croatia has a lot more to offer. A great alternative for a sand beach is a pebbled beach. In combination with crystally clear water, it’s the right place to be.
There is a variety of beaches and everyone will be able to find the beach suitable for their preferences.
