Anti Aging Advice with Natural Common Sense Solutions (Drug-Free Method)

The Right Mindset

The first think we have to say on the topic of anti-aging using a drug free method that is all natural is that you have to change your mindset to go along with this new lifestyle.

Many of us have tried drugs and not seen the results we want, so in order to embrace what we are about to tell you, you need to be prepared to think positive and be open to these suggestions.

Eat Right

For instance, the first thing you want to do is eat right.  How many of us do this 100%?

Almost no one, because there are plenty of things to eat that contain ingredients which are basically toxic to our bodies, and to eliminate all of these admittedly delicious things from our diet seems impossible.

So, we are not suggesting on giving up on everything you love to eat, but you will definitely need to change your diet to some degree, if you are currently eating a lot of processed foods.

Don’t think about carbs, or proteins – just think health.  Let’s dive in a bit deeper to see what this means.

Alkalinity, Acid, and Proteins

One thing you must be aware of when it comes to developing an skin routine that targets anti-aging, is the acid content in your own body.

For instance, the kidneys will behave differently over time, resulting in a reduced amount of nitrogen in our muscle proteins as we age.

This will gradually happen despite how much fitness we do, such as lifting weights and such. This is why weightlifters can’t bulk up as much when they’re older, and why people seem to get lighter as they reach old age.

Elderly people simply can’t retain the muscle mass they once did, and this is because our body tends to break down this nitrogen compound, using our kidneys, and disposing of it in our urine.

This results in an overall building of acid in our body, which then leads to a lack of calcium in our bones, ending up as osteoporosis in our elderly population.

So in an effort to promote a healthier and more youthful body, we need to make our bodies less acidic, and we can do this by increasing the alkalinity of our bodies in a slow but gradual way.

How do we go about increasing our body’s alkalinity?  First, we can be sure to focus on consuming more greens, fresh if possible.

Following the fine example set by Popeye from the comics, we should really eat more spinach, which can help to affect our body’s alkaline levels, and also make us more muscular, which will help us to burn more fat.

Potassium Bicarbonate

One big way to increase our body’s alkalinity is through a supplement called Potassium Bicarbonate, which we can add to our diet in order to facilitate our goal here.

We can notice effects in as little as a few weeks.  In order to incorporate Potassium Bicarbonate, we need to – you guessed it – eat more fruits and vegetables, daily.

Although you’ve probably heard that nuts, fish, eggs, healthy oils, healthy meets like chicken are something good for you, these can actually result in reduced bone density as you age, because acidity levels are up.

But fruits and veggies, aux natural, are the best way to increase muscle mass, which is desirable here.

No More Chicken Parm?

One interesting thing that scientific studies have shown is which foods or pseudo-food products causes a depletion of nitrogen from our bodies, with a prime suspect being everyone’s favourite cheese – parmesan!

Therefore, consuming too much of this cheese leads to a reduction in muscle mass, and therefore are you might say it’s pro-aging.  Wow, eh?

It turns out that good old parm cheese increases the reduction of muscle mass in your average person by 3 times, really taking its toll on the amount of nitrogen in our body.

Cheeses in general aren’t so good, either.  Also bad for us in this way are some things we may not expect either, like most types of pasta, whole wheat bread, white and brown rice, rolled oats, and even corn flakes gets thrown under the bus.

So this really messes with our concept, which is relatively new, that foods packed with protein is good for us, because things like meat and fish, as well as eggs and milk are going to cause trouble for us in the long run when it comes to aging.

Well, What Can I Eat Then?

On the other side of the coin, we have foods that fight the effects of aging by promoting alkalinity, and these, in particular, include things like leafy greens, and especially raisins.  Who knew?

So, get ready for your new diet – it’s just salad and raisins!   Just joking around a bit – you can also add to that celery, carrots, apricots, bananas, currants, and, yes – spinach.

Celery actually takes more calories to eat it than celery itself gives you – how about that?  Add a few ripe juicy tomatoes, and now we’re talking.

Tomatoes will improve your body’s resistance to oxidants, which, again, are bad for you.  Anti-oxidants are what you want.

Recap

Ok, so let’s recap – we want a diet which has lots of leafy green veggies, but not a lot of heavy proteins.  If you can follow these simple suggestions, whether your are young or old, you will be sure to reap the benefits.

More Things To Avoid and Not Avoid

On top of all these dietary tips, you’ll want to be avoiding a few other things as well.  Isn’t this fun?  Avoid this, avoid that.

But seriously, if you can also avoid alcohol and smoking, you’ll be doing your body and especially your liver a huge favour, as these toxic substances can lead to premature aging as well.  And don’t forget to stay out of the sun.

You can stay in the sun for a while, if you are prepared, but the sun has some harsh rays, and if you’re not hydrated (say by using pomegranate oil or some good sunscreen), your pH levels will go out of whack and you will look and feel dehydrated.

Drink plenty of water every day!

Exercise

Keeping an active lifestyle once we hit middle age can be extra challenging, for a number of reasons.  Be that as it may, staying active is of utmost importance.

Use it or lose it, they say!  So, even though your joints ache, you’re extra tired, etc. etc., you need to stay active.  As we age, our backs get sore, ligaments hurt.

So what can we do?  In addition, our metabolism just decides to take a hike just when we wouldn’t mind looking our best.

This is the point where we really have to have that positive attitude and plow ahead.

If we stay sedentary, and don’t use our bodies, the aging process will definitely speed up, because being stressed but not moving much is probably the worst thing we can do.

There’s no need to go extreme and take up kickboxing, but you should definitely get your butt in gear and do something, lest your skin get too flabby and saggy.  Don’t over do it, but definitely do it.

Here’s a video from our very own BeachBabyBob, an exercise guru with many years of experience with some great moves you can try to kick off your exercise routine.

Conclusion

We’ve gone over a lot of things in this article, but the main touch points are thinking positive, staying active, not filling your body with toxins, and having some knowledge of alkalinity and how your muscle mass functions.

If you can keep all of these things in mind, then your aging will stop being a real stressor in your life and you will age gracefully and beautifully.

And by the way, raisins can be addictive, so don’t eat too many of those either!
